Trump Turns Up the Heat on Fox News, Demands Network Stop Alienating Its Conservative Base

President Donald Trump has once again put Fox News on notice, blasting the network over what he sees as soft treatment of Democratic talking points and calling for liberal co-host Jessica Tarlov to be taken off the air.

The confrontation erupted after Trump used Truth Social to criticize both Shannon Bream, host of Fox News Sunday, and Tarlov, a rotating Democratic co-host of The Five. Tarlov has served as a Fox News contributor since 2017 and appears as one of the network’s regular liberal voices on The Five.

Trump’s sharpest criticism was directed at Tarlov. According to multiple reports, he urged Fox executives to remove her from the air, calling her one of the worst personalities on television and accusing her of spreading false political claims.

For many conservative viewers, the president’s message struck a familiar nerve. Their frustration is not simply about one television personality. It is about a broader concern that Fox News has become too comfortable giving airtime to anti-Trump narratives while expecting its conservative audience to keep watching.

Trump also criticized Bream over her handling of discussions involving the SAVE America Act, a Republican-backed election integrity measure that would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration and photo identification for voting. The bill passed the House in February 2026, but has faced strong resistance in the Senate.

To Trump’s supporters, this is exactly the issue: when Democrats appear on conservative media, they should be challenged aggressively, especially on election security, immigration, border policy, and attacks on the America First agenda. Instead, many viewers believe Fox too often allows liberal guests and panelists to frame the debate on Democratic terms.

Tarlov has long filled the role of Fox’s liberal counterweight, but her frequent criticism of Trump has made her a lightning rod for the network’s core audience. Conservatives who tune in to The Five often expect pushback against the left, not another platform for Democratic messaging.

That frustration has only grown as Trump continues to fight battles on multiple fronts — against legacy media, establishment Republicans, Democratic lawmakers, and institutions he believes are hostile to his movement. His appeal has always rested on one promise: he will say out loud what many conservatives believe the political class is too afraid to say.

Fox News now faces a difficult choice. The network can continue presenting itself as a broad debate platform with liberal voices at the table, or it can lean harder into the expectations of the viewers who built its dominance in conservative media.

Trump’s warning is clear: conservative viewers do not want a watered-down version of CNN or MSNBC. They want a network that challenges the left, defends election integrity, and respects the voters who powered the America First movement.

Whether Fox executives respond remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Trump has once again forced a conversation that many inside conservative media would rather avoid.
