‘HOLY CRAP’: President Trump Just Made History

President Donald Trump’s support among baby boomers has returned substantially, providing him a boost from one of his most reliable voter blocs as he prepares for the 2026 midterm elections.

In the most recent Quantus Insights survey, the support rating for Trump among baby boomers has changed from neutral to strongly favorable. Last month, his approval rating among those over the age of 65 was 49 percent, with 49 percent disapproving.

However, this month’s data indicate a substantial turnaround. Trump is presently at 56 percent approval and 41 percent disapproval, for a net positive of +15 points and a 15-point swing in his favor in just a few weeks.

The turnaround highlights Trump’s continued appeal among older conservatives, despite declining favor ratings among younger Americans and other crucial demographics. Baby boomers—who were key to Trump’s victory in 2024, when 51% of the population voted for him—remain an important part of his political base.

While the Quantus Insights poll found an increase in boomer support for the president, other polls suggest that his popularity rating among this cohort has been relatively stable recently.

According to a YouGov/Economist survey, Trump’s approval rating among over-65s remained constant in June at 45 percent approve/53 percent disapprove, scarcely changing from 45/51 in May.

An ActiVote poll indicates a similar tendency, with Trump’s popularity rating dropping just slightly among over-65s, from 48 percent approve/48 percent disapprove in May to 42/52 in June.

Marist polling also indicates essentially no shift among boomers, with 41 percent approving and 58 percent disapproving in June for those over 60, comparable to 40/57 in April. According to a Fox News survey, Trump’s approval rating among over-65s increased slightly in June to 46/53, up from 43/57 in April.

Despite constant negativity from Democrats and their media allies, Trump has been rising in the polls.

Trump also recently received “history-making” numbers when it comes to his support among his Republican base, CNN polling analyst Harry Enten.

Enten told “CNN News Central” on Tuesday that Republicans “love” Trump in his second term more than they did in his first, with 63% firmly supporting him in 2025 compared to 53% in 2017.

He said that Trump’s approval rating among Republicans is greater than that of any previous GOP president.

“So, we’re going to look at the strongly approved numbers. So, this isn’t just Republicans who like Donald Trump. This is Republicans who love Donald Trump. And he’s up like a rocket. Look at this. In July 2017, the strongly approved was 53 percent. That’s pretty good. But look at where he is now, 63 percent of Republicans strongly approve of the job that Donald Trump is doing about five months into his presidency,” Enten said.

“Republicans love Donald Trump the way that Americans love Disney World. The bottom line is, 63 percent. That is a huge, huge base. And, of course, it’s just part of the Republican base in which about 90 percent of them overall approve of him, including the somewhat approves as well,” Enten added.

Enten went on to note that Trump is more popular among Republicans than previous GOP presidents, arguing that this is “history-making.”

“So, the bottom line is, Donald Trump is making history with the Republican base. He is more beloved by this Republican base than any Republican base loved any GOP president five months in. It is history-making,” Enten said.

“The bottom line is this: 95 percent plus of the time, the Trump-endorsed candidate wins in GOP primaries. And even in the cases where Donald Trump endorses a challenger to an incumbent, the majority of the time that challenger wins. So, Donald Trump is a winner in Republican primaries,” Enten said.

“You go against Donald Trump, to quote the movie “Good Burger,” you go in the grinder. Donald Trump is the key nugget. His endorsement’s the key nugget in a GOP primary because he’s historically strongly popular with the GOP base,” he added.
