Michelle Obama Reveals Secret Detail About Relationship With Barack

Michelle Obama shared what “sealed the deal” in her relationship with former President Barack Obama during Wednesday’s episode of IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, the podcast she co-hosts with her brother.
She reflected on their first date and how it shaped the start of their relationship amid ongoing rumors that her marriage is on the rocks and divorce is imminent.
Speculation began in January when Michelle Obama was the only former first lady absent from President Donald Trump’s inauguration. She had also declined to attend former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral, Newsweek reported.
Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain, said on a podcast she had heard from “reputable people” that the Obamas were splitting up. Both Michelle, 61, and Barack Obama, 64, have denied the claim.
On Wednesday’s episode of IMO, featuring guest Spike Lee, Michelle recounted the start of her nearly 33-year marriage to Barack . She said he planned a “beautiful day” that ended with a screening of Lee’s 1989 film “Do the Right Thing.”
“Do the Right Thing is the kind of movie that after you watch it, you gotta talk about it, you know?” Michelle told Lee and Robinson. “I found out his character—did he see what I see? Did he have the feelings I felt? Did he get what I got out of the movie? So we talked for hours after the movie like everyone would tend to do, and I would say that that date probably sealed the deal.”
Michelle said she initially questioned whether it was “appropriate to date” Barack, since they were both working at the same Chicago law firm and she had been assigned as his mentor.
“We worked in the same place, we were probably one of a handful of Black folks, but he was persistent,” Michelle said. “So I acquiesced.”
“It was sort of one of those dates that goes on and on,” she added, adding that they spent time at the Art Institute “walking” and “talking” and later ate dinner at the Lake Point Tower.
On a previous episode of IMO, Michelle said, “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I’ve thought about quitting on my man, and we’ve had some really hard times. We’ve had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
Barack, who was a ‘guest’ on the same episode, responded: “OK, don’t make me cry now right at the beginning of the show. Don’t let me start tearing up now!”
For the past three years, meanwhile, Republican lawyer Mike Davis, a former legal counsel to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), has pressed for federal criminal probes into Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and senior officials at the FBI, CIA, and Justice Department.
Now, with Attorney General Pam Bondi approving a series of new investigations, Davis says his long-pursued objective may finally be within reach, NBC News reported recently.
Last month, Bondi authorized two federal criminal investigations into New York Attorney General Letitia James and one into Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). She also directed a federal prosecutor to convene a grand jury to examine whether Obama administration officials broke the law in their assessment of Russia’s role in the 2016 election.
Bondi’s directive followed accusations from National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, who alleged Obama and his aides engaged in a “treasonous conspiracy” and said she had referred the matter to the Justice Department.
Davis praised Bondi’s actions in a recent interview.
“This is the greatest conspiracy in American history,” he said, a reference to the various Democratic plots against President Donald Trump. “There must be the most severe legal, political and financial consequences for this unprecedented weaponization. This must never happen again.”
