Ashley Biden Responds To Book Claims About Father’s Mental Decline

Former first daughter Ashley Biden invoked a phrase created by President Donald Trump during his first presidential campaign to lash out at the authors of a new book that purports to describe the mental decline of her father, former President Joe Biden.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Ashley criticized the depiction of her father in Original Sin, the new tell-all book co-authored by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson.

Though she didn’t name names, Ashley claimed they relied on anonymous sources and spread false narratives about her father’s health and presidential legacy.

“The ONLY coverup of this family is a BEACH coverup!” she wrote. “The truth is, Dad gave his ALL to America and continues til this day… The noise is so DAMN disrespectful and untrue.”

She also praised her father’s work ethic, stating that he “worked harder than anyone I have ever known” and took his “sacred obligation to this country very seriously.”

In addition, Ashley addressed the aging process, acknowledging that “he aged, YES! As we all do!” But she also went on to say he remained capable throughout his term.

Original Sin features accounts from former Biden administration officials and allies who recount instances of confusion and express concerns about President Biden’s cognitive health.

The book further claims that White House staff began restricting his public appearances and worked to shield him from unpredictable situations.

The book further claims that White House staff began restricting his public appearances and worked to shield him from unpredictable situations.

Biden dismissed the claims as politically driven and harmful, urging her followers to focus on her father’s legacy of action and perseverance rather than the media “static” she says is intended to discredit him.

“Get lost with your anonymous sources and fake news,” she wrote, adding that she would block anyone who posted something disrespectful in response.

In January, the CNN host reminded Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., how he was “relentlessly harsh against Special Counsel Robert Hur” and his report on President Biden despite it being “pretty accurate.”

Tapper referenced Schiff’s questioning of President-elect Donald Trump’s Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi, particularly in light of her claim that most Americans no longer trust the Justice Department, Fox News reported.

Schiff attributed the criticism of the DOJ to Republicans “trashing” the institution, but Tapper pointed out that he and other Democrats had also criticized the Justice Department in the past.

“President Biden gave a pretty harsh assessment of the investigation into his son Hunter,” Tapper began. “He basically threw the Justice Department under the bus there for those investigations. And Democrats, including you, were relentlessly harsh against Special Counsel Robert Hur for making an observation that proved pretty accurate, about how Joe Biden might appear to a jury as a ‘well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.’”

“I was critical of that for good reason,” Schiff argued. “And that is, you don’t put gratuitous personal observations like that in a prosecutorial memo. You just don’t. And it was done for a political reason,” Schiff claimed, ignoring the fact that Hur’s assessment wasn’t ‘personal’ it was an observation based on his interactions with Biden — and that it was spot-on.

“I think Robert Hur would say he needed to explain why he wasn’t going to prosecute President Biden for what he thought was a violation of the law,” Tapper clarified.
