‘This Is My Calling’: Jeanine Pirro Recounts Path to U.S. Attorney’s Office

U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., and former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro said during an interview with Lara Trump that fighting crime is deeply personal for her.

“You are someone we all know, you had a great career in TV, we all love to see you on our screens every day, you gave up a lot to come here and do this job so why was this job so important for you to take at this moment?” President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law asked on her “My View With Lara Trump” show on Saturday.

“This is my calling, this is who I am. I’ve fought for the underdog, for the silent victim of crime my whole life. I fought for women and children and the elderly and minorities my whole career. My heart bleeds for those people who have been targeted by a criminal who decides to upend their lives, who takes a loved one away from families. I’ve seen the ripple effect. You toss a stone in a pond and there’s a little ripple but then it goes wider and wider and wider. The impact on the community is great,” the attorney said.

“I had a great job at Fox, but I’m back to my roots. This is who I am, this is the fight, this is the passion, and at my age, some people would consider retiring. This is the challenge that I need, but more importantly, when I look back on my life, this is what’s going to matter,” Pirro said.

Trump then asked Pirro what it was like to be working in Washington alongside the president himself.

“You have someone working here in D.C. with you, President Donald Trump, who you have known for decades, but I don’t think you’ve ever been able to work in the capacity you are now with the president so tell me what that’s like,” Lara said.

“I’ve got to tell you, I spoke to him I think yesterday at 7:00 a.m. and he’s like, he’s nonstop and he just motivates all of us. He is like “we need to do this and this and this.” I love working for him, I’m proud of him, I believe in him. He will make a difference, he believes in the American dream, he believes in safety and security for Americans. He believes in us and we believe in him,” Pirro said.

Pirro is also talking tough about the man shown on video hurling a hoagie at a U.S. border agent in Washington, D.C.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted the video of the man to his X account on Thursday, announcing that the FBI had arrested the suspect and charged him with felony assault on a federal officer.

MSNBC reported on the viral moment with Courtney Kube, senior national security correspondent, saying, “On the surface, it may not seem like a big deal, but that is a very serious charge that this man is now facing.”

“He was screaming — according to the criminal complaint — he was screaming obscenities at officers, including the CBP agent, calling him a fascist as well as other F-words, frankly,” Kube told Ana Cabrera Reports. “And then he proceeded then, according to the complaint, to throw his sub-style sandwich at the CBP agent’s chest. He was taken into custody, he was charged with felony assault. And we heard quickly again on social media from U.S. Attorney — and former Fox News star — for D.C., Jeanine Pirro.”

Pirro recorded herself in her federal office saying in a taunting voice, “He thought it was funny. Well, he doesn’t think it’s funny today because we charged him with a felony assault on a police officer, and we’re going to back the police to the hilt. So, there — stick your subway sandwich somewhere else.”
